Sports Facilities
We have 6 pitches at the Bruineveld sports complex, at 3,5km from the city centre. Buses will be available from the city centre.
Pitches 1, 3, 4 and 6 are natural grass. Pitches 2 and 5 are artificial grass.
‼ Competition rules deviation for ECC 2024
Due to the limited number of teams, the EC decided to deviate from the rules laid down in the ECC Manual as follows:
The Main and Plate competition will be holding 12 teams instead of 16.
The Main competition will consist of the numbers 1 and 2 of the 6 groups, the Plate competition the numbers 3 and 4. The remaining teams will be playing the Vase competition.
In the Main and Plate competition teams will be drawn in 4 new groups of 3 teams at the Captains Meeting. Hence, each team will play the 2 other teams in its group on Thursday.
Main competition:
The group winners will play each other in the semi finals (and by knock-out to the finals), seconds will be competing for places 5-8, and thirds will play for places 9-12
Plate competition:
The group winners will play each other in the semi finals (places 13-16), seconds will be competing for places 17-20, and thirds will play for places 21-24.
In case of teams finishing with equal points, the table positioning will be decided as follows:
1/ Goal difference
2/ Goals scored
3/ Result of the match between respective teams
4/ Penalty Shoot-out
Vase Competition:
The Vase competition will be a standard knock-out system.
